Osama Bin Laden is finally dead. Hunted as the mastermind behind the worst terrorist attack on U.S. and around the world, he has been killed. He was killed in a firefight with elite American forces Monday, then quickly buried at sea in a stunning finale to a furtive decade on the run. U.S. helicopter troops flew into the compound identified by the CIA as bin Laden's hideout -- and back out again in less than 40 minutes. Bin Laden was shot in the head after he and his bodyguards resisted the assault.
Bin Laden was located at a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, which was monitored and when the time was determined to be right, the president said, he authorized a "targeted operation." The president called the killing of Bin Laden the "most significant achievement to date" in the effort to defeat al Qaeda. "Justice has been done," Obama said.
A small team of Americans Navy Seals carried out the operation. Obama chaired no fewer than five National Security Council meetings meeting on the pursuit of bin Laden, and gave the order to plan an attack on his suspected compound on the morning of April 29. He gave final order for the attack Sunday morning.
President Obama decided last week that post-mortem photos of Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden would not be released because they might pose a national security risk. They could be used as an incitement to additional violence or as a propaganda tool. Many peolple are in dout of his death because they yet haven't seen any prove of his death. They ask them selves if its just a conspiracy.
